Pneumatic Fixtures
The Yelo pneumatic fixturing system provides robust, reliable bed of nails fixturing without limitations on probe parts are not stressed. Due to the simplicity of the design, these fixtures are priced to compete with traditional vacuum fixtures. Dual height fixturing means that all probes are connected during in-circuit tests, with only a reduced number during functional tests to reduce the loading effects of probes and wiring. If this feature is not required, the fixture works as a conventional single height unit. Yelo fixtures have a replaceable probe plate which allows most of the fixture to be reused for new products resulting in savings of on going fixture costs. Yelo Pneumatic Fixture Benefits
Yelo Pneumatic Fixture Key Features In bed of nails fixtures, a series of spring probes make contact with a ROB in order to provide test access. There are different methods of operating such fixtures including mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic. In general, a new product will demand a new fixture so on-going fixture costs can be very significant although replaceable probe plates will reduce this cost. In-circuit testing needs a probe on every electrical node to give good test coverage. Functional testing often can rely on fewer connections which results in a much lower probe count. The Yelo pneumatic fixtures have an open lid also known as a top hat. The ROB is placed onto a plate above the probes which are withdrawn at this stage and the operator shuts the top hat. The software actuates the pneumatics and the ROB is lowered to make contact with the probes. There is no restriction on probe count, probe density or board shape. The standard dual height facility allows one fixture testing of both in-circuit and functional. Rneumatic actuation determines whether all probes make contact for in-circuit testing or selected probes only for functional test. This reduces the adverse effect of probes and wires being connected to the ROB during critical functional testing. The plate which carries the probes can be removed and replaced. This means that most of the fixture can be reused for later products which produces significant savings. New probe plates can be purchased which will require drilling and wiring. Yelo pneumatic fixtures are available in different sizes and also as dual well, allowing one product to be tested while another is loaded/unloaded. The fixtures can be operated from a standard factory compressed air supply.
