New 7 Series Yelo System The successful 100 series (formerly known as TestPoint) have always had a maximum of 48 nodes per test card. This is now being increased to 72. Since 2000 all new Yelo systems have been produced with a new backplane and extra row of connectors in order to be ready to take advantage of the new 72 pin cards. These will shortly be available and will provide the following benefits:
In addition, the new 7 series systems as they will be known, feature enhanced power supply capabilities and extra test card slots. The new 7150 is fitted with an extended power supply pack. This adds three floating programmable power supplies each rated at 100 VA. Typically these might be 0-30V at 3 amps or 0-50V at 2 amps. The 7130 can be upgraded to become a 7150. The 7130 and 7150 feature further 'internal' test card slots. The previous 130 and 150 had two internal slots, usually used for system power supplies and controlling/central measurement cards (SYS and SYF). The 7 series add a further three internal slots which can save using full test card slots where cards like the digital voltmeter or signal generator are being used. Full details of the 72 pin test cards will be available shortly. At the same time the existing TPW test front end software is being continually enhanced. Soon to be released versions will include automation tools to significantly reduce in-circuit programming times, enhanced functional programming libraries and CAD importing/fixture wiring generation tools.
